About

Christine Marie Chen - Knitwear Designer / Teacher

Originally from Oklahoma, Christine has always had a passion for creating. She finds inspiration everywhere, especially in nature.

She began knitting shortly after her son was born in 2006, and hasn't stopped since. Specializing in knitwear accessories such as fingerless mitts, shawls, hats, etc... she always has something on her needles.

In Jan. 2008 she transplanted to the San Francisco Bay area, where her knitting really started to take shape when she seized the opportunity to do some production knitting for a couple of local designers. She hand knit custom dog and cat couture for "Wool & Kashmir" as well as luxury shawls for "Breaking the Wool". So it came as a natural progression that her own designs and patterns emerged. Currently she is in the process of designing for several yarn companies and her patterns are being featured in Love of Knitting magazine.

She teaches classes on both knitting and crochet at Beverly's Fabric and Crafts Store in San Jose, CA. and finds joy in assisting her students in mastering their first stitch and then watching them go on to create their first project.

Christine now raises her 2 children, eats, sleeps, knits and designs from her home studio in the San Francisco Bay Area.
